THE ROUTE: Walking from Keystone Resort to Frisco and on to Breckenridge

The walk route from Keystone Resort to Frisco and Breckenridge will consist mostly of sidewalks and recreational bike paths. The trail will still be open to the public and you will see many people out enjoying all that Summit County has to offer. As the sun rises on Saturday of your walk weekend, the beauty of the Rocky Mountains will serve as the incredible backdrop during our Opening Ceremony at the Keystone Resort.
Your first steps onto our walk route will take you through the route will take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Summit County. You will be able to see four of Colorado’s famous “Fourteeners” (For those of you new to Colorado and the Rockies – the ‘Fourteeners’ are mountains with elevations above 14,000 ft). After you’ve walked along the beautiful Lake Dillon and Ten Mile Creeks on Saturday, you’ll reach our Wellness Village at the stunning Summit County Middle School located on the banks of Lake Dillon.
Sunday's route will begin at Summit County Middle School and will take you along the Blue River and past historic mining sites! You’ll complete your day’s mileage at the beautiful mountain town of Breckenridge and Main Street for our Closing Ceremony.
The route itself will be clearly marked with directional signage and other markings. This is how you will navigate the route during the event — by following the Avon Walk arrow signs.
There is also a route support team called "the Sweep Team," which is available to help you while you are on the road between Quick Stops and Rest Stops. Overall, the route will take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Summit County, and is designed to be safe, fun, and interesting!

Friends and family are more than welcome to park for Opening and Closing Ceremonies, but will not be able to leave cars overnight due to limited parking in the area. Participants who need overnight parking are encouraged to park at the Pika Lot in Keystone and walk to Opening Ceremony site on Saturday morning.
Complimentary shuttles to the Marmot Lot will run from the River Run Condominiums and the Inn at Keystone, between 4:30am – 5:45am Saturday morning. Buses returning to Keystone Resort on Sunday will depart immediately after the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony and will stop at River Run, the Inn and the Pika Lot.

We are pleased to announce that the Wellness Village will be returning to Summit County Middle School - the same lakeside site that has been our home away from home for the past four years. The school is located in the heart of Frisco’s downtown area, with a short walk to many shops and restaurants and provides amazing scenery of the mountains, the Dillon Reservoir and the Frisco Marina.
Parking will be available in the various parking lots around the school for visitors.

For walkers who require overnight accommodations on Friday, June 22 or Saturday, June 23, we have secured a room block with following Avon Walk participant rates. The single and double room rate will vary from $111 - $320 + tax per night depending on which type of room you choose at the resort. (Keystone Resort will be able to assist you when you call to accommodate what room works best for you).The rooms closest to the Opening Ceremony will be the Slope Side Rooms or the rooms in the Inn at Keystone. A bit further away will be the rooms at the River Run Condominiums. Most rooms are within a 5-7 minute walk from Opening Ceremony. However, there will be a complimentary shuttle available on Saturday morning from the Inn at Keystone and River Run Condominiums to the Opening Ceremony site.

KEYSTONE RESORT PARKING INFORMATION: Complimentary weekend parking will be available for all participants at Keystone Resort. Shuttles back to Keystone Resort from the Closing Ceremony site in Breckenridge will be provided.
