THE ROUTE: Walking from the Frazier Park to Park Road Park and Back Again
The walk route to and from Frazier Park and Wellness Village will consist mostly of sidewalks and city streets. The route will take you through some of Charlotte’s stunning parks. The route itself will be clearly marked with directional signage and other markings. This is how you will navigate the route during the event — by following the signs.
There is also a route support team called "the Sweep Team," which is available to help you while you are on the road between Quick Stops and Rest Stops. Overall, the route will take you through some of Charlotte’s most beautiful neighborhoods, filled with southern charm, and is designed to be safe, fun, and interesting!

Family/friends staying for the Ceremony can park in the Cedar Street parking deck and may park overnight here, but will not be able to park on the street.
We encourage all participants to park at the Westin Charlotte garage. Participants can take the complimentary shuttles from the Westin Charlotte to Opening Ceremony.
Complimentary shuttles to Frazier Park will run from the Westin Marriott, between 4-6 a.m. Saturday morning. Buses returning to the Westin Charlotte on Sunday will depart immediately after the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony.

Located less than a mile from the famous Southpark Mall, Park Road Park is a beautiful park complete with a serene pond! We are thrilled to have this park as our Wellness Village for the seventh year in a row!
Limited visitor parking will be available off in the Park's visitor lot and there will be a Traffic and Security Crew Team to direct friends and family.

Event Eve and Room Block: Westin Charlotte

For walkers who require overnight accommodations on Friday, October 26, or Saturday, October 27, we have secured a room block with special Avon Walk participant rates: Friday/Saturday Rate: $159 + tax per night for a single or double. You must indicate that you are part of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in order to secure that rate. This is the most convenient hotel to stay at, since it is the Event Eve host hotel.

Reservations must be made by September 25, 2012, at 11:59pm EST to guarantee the special rate.
Parking is available at the Westin Charlotte and we encourage all participants to park here for convenient access to the shuttles Saturday morning.
