Crew Orientations
Attend a Crew Orientation to learn about the basics of becoming a Crew member. Crew Orientations are held over the phone in months prior to the Avon Walk. During the Crew Orientation, you'll learn how the Crew is organized, how it works, and what to expect on the Event. You'll get details about your Crew Team's role on the Event and learn about some of the challenges you may face! If you'd like to attend a meeting, please RSVP to an activity on our calendar above, or send us an e-mail.Crew Training Day
Crew Training Day is a critical step toward preparing for the Avon Walk, and it's important that you attend this hands-on training. It is held approximately 4-6 weeks prior to each Walk for both new and returning Crew members. Crew Training Day is your opportunity to learn more about your responsibilities, vehicle safety guidelines, communication protocols, and hear helpful tips on what and how to pack in preparation for the Avon Walk. It's also your chance to practice driving a 15-foot truck, setting up and packing up a sleeping tent, use the communications equipment we will have on the Walk, and meet your Team Leader and other Crew Team members if you haven't already.Returning Crew will get a refresher as well as the chance to share their knowledge and experience with new Crew members to help make the Walk the best it can be! Finally, a Q&A session with the Event Logistics and Crew & Volunteer Coordinators is the chance for everyone to hear about any changes to the 2012 Avon Walk, and to have all your questions answered.
Your Crew & Volunteer Coordinator will provide you with Crew Training Day date and location details just as soon as they become available!
